The Waffen-SS Tunic for D-Day and Late War Impression

The SS M43 Tunic (Feldbluse) was a further simplification to the construction of the German Tunic. Feldblusen from contracts for the SS were still different from the M43 army tunic. The pleated pockets and scalloped flaps were now gone. However, the proper SS Tunic still featured distinctive differences that are highlighted in this reproduction:

• 4 sets of double belt hook holes
• Simplified pockets
• 5 front buttons
• Late-War artificial rayon lining

The Tunic is supplied with infantry shoulder straps but without any other insignia.

The M43 Tunic was a further simplification to the construction of the German Tunic. But it was still different from the M43 army tunic by keeping the 5-button configuration, as well as different liner pattern and 4 sets of belt-hooks.

The SS M43 tunic started appearing from mid-43 onwards and by 1944, it was acting as a replacement tunic for the "Alte Hasen" and also for the new recruits.
