FJ m38 Green Helmet Cover (hook-on)

What's my Size?

M38 green cotton helmet cover for early-war Fallschirmjager impression. The materials are kept as faithful to the originals as well as the original construction made from 2 pieces. Along the circumference, a wide, herringbone-patterned cotton band with regular vertical seams allows foliage to be attached, breaking the helmet's silhouette. The edges on which the 6 hooks are attached are reinforced with tape in herringbone material.

Which helmets does this M38 Green helmet cover fit

The cover is large enough to fit helmets up to a shell size of 71cm and a liner size of 59cm. This includes original helmets and Chinese copies. Might need some readjustmentent of hooks. However, it will not fit helmets with a 71cm size from Indian-made copies or Sturm brands. (message us for the latter).

*New run that has a better fit.

Historical Information about the M38 Green helmet cover

Following the early jumps of 1940, the M38 helmet cover in green was produced. The fabric used was not that of the smock, but plain green or olive cotton made from a lesser quality fabric. Towards the end of 1940, Splinter-B helmet covers with hooks also started being produced, but the green helmet covers could be observed being used by German Paratroopers throughout the war. It wasn't uncommon for helmet covers to be worn alone, without helmets as sun protection.
