Luftwaffe Blue gray Summer Tunic

A unique Luftwaffe Summer Tunic for an all-around mid & Late-war Impression.

Based on the Luftwaffe 4 pocket service dress, the summer service uniform followed the same pattern as the Tropical uniform, issued at the same time. The Blue-gray gabardine cotton matches the weight and weave of the original surviving examples. We have copied the pattern directly from an original in our collection.

Gray lining and blue-gray pebbled removable buttons finish off this jacket. 

Note that this is a limited run and we can only ensure 40 jackets from the available fabric.  Delivery expected towards the end of July 2021.

The jacket comes pre-stitched with a breast eagle on blue-wool and woolen shoulder straps in golden coloured piping for Flight

Historical Info about the Luftwaffe Blue-gray Twill uniform

Officially in 1943, the Luftwaffe introduced summer-appropriate uniforms, anticipating that Germany is to enter the Mediterranean theatre of war. 2 colours of uniforms were introduced - the Khaki coloured uniforms and the blue-gray summer uniforms.

From original photographs, one can observe these uniforms in use from 1941 to late 1944, thus covering the majority of the
