Luftwaffe Buckle (Silver)

Sold out.

The Luftwaffe Buckle in Silver finish features the 2nd pattern eagle, following the construction introduced from 1940 onwards. Finished in Silver semi-gloss paint over steel.

This pattern features 2 piece construction (as in the photo showing the back), with the surface outside the horizontal oval is smooth, where as the inside is pebbled.

Historical Information about the Luftwaffe Buckle

The Luftwaffe Buckle for EM/NCOs, originally in Aluminium, also suffered the fate of war-time shortages, and eventually steel was the primary component of the issued buckle. The second pattern eagle was introduced in late 1937 in Silver finish. The Blue-gray finish and olive finish introduced in the mid-1940 were used primarily for service use, whereas the silver one was kept for parade and going out occasions (dress wear).
